Nikasteel processes steel before shipment: cut-to-length ±2 mm, plasma/flame profiling to drawing, drilling and beveling, shot blasting to SA2.5 with 60–80 µm epoxy primer, plus coil slitting. Processing adds 3–7 days to lead time and saves buyers site labor, waste and re-handling — delivered ready to weld or bolt.
Bare mill sections and plates are the starting point, not the product. Most buyers pay again at destination for cutting, drilling and blasting that could be done at the source — where labor is cheaper and waste stays in the mill's recycling loop, not your yard. Here's what we process in-house before your container is stuffed.
Processing Services and Tolerances
| Service | Capability | Tolerance | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cut-to-length | Sections 1–12 m; plates to 12 m | ±2 mm | Exact erection lengths — no site cutting |
| Plasma / flame profiling | Plate to 100 mm; shapes from DXF | ±1–2 mm edge | Brackets, gussets, base plates, curved cuts |
| Drilling | Holes Ø10–50 mm, multi-spindle | ±0.5 mm position | Bolted connections, end plates, purlin holes |
| Beveling | 30–45° single/double | per WPS | Weld-ready edges on thick plate |
| Shot blasting | SA2.5 near-white | profile 30–75 µm | Surface prep for coating |
| Primer | Epoxy 60–80 µm, any color | — | Corrosion protection to first paint on site |
| Coil slitting | To 4.0 mm × 1500 mm | ±0.5 mm width | Roll-forming widths, tube mills |
| Tube cutting / milling | End facing, notching | ±1 mm | Furniture tube, greenhouse kits |
What Processing Saves You
- Site labor: bolt-ready end plates and pre-drilled holes cut erection time roughly in half on repetitive frames.
- Waste: nest-and-cut at the mill means offcuts stay in China — you import finished weight only.
- Surface quality: SA2.5 blasting plus factory primer protects through weeks of sea transit and gives paint crews a clean base.
- One clearance: processed parts ship in the same container as your beams — no second import for consumables.
How to Order Processing
- Send drawings (PDF/DXF/STEP) marking: cut lengths, hole patterns, bevel edges, primer color and film thickness.
- We confirm feasibility and quote material + processing as separate lines — you see exactly what each service costs.
- Processing adds 3–7 days to standard lead time (15–25 days depending on rolling schedule).
- First-article check: for repeat programs we photograph and measure the first piece for your approval before the batch runs.
